The countdown has begun and the day draws near. LiveWisely 2020′s “50 Million Steps” campaign is set to kickoff on February 28th. Keep your eyes and ears peeled.  The campaign will benefit the kids and families we serve in the lifestyle and behavioral programs we offer. The goal is two fold: (1) First is to continue inceasing the awareness of childhood and adolescent obesity in families, (2) second is to simply encourage as many people as possible to take 50 million steps to improve their fitness level by walking. In particular, the goal is to challenge each person to take at least 10,000 steps a day, that’s just about walking five miles. 10,000 steps a day is recommended to achieve the health benefits associated with walking. Once each person begins to form a habit of walking they are encouraged to pass this habit on to someone else.
